Sterilefilter PTFE
Ultra-Mem PTFE cartridges are manufactured by means of 1 micron hydrophobic ePTFE membrane.
The improved ePTFE membrane provides exceptionally high flow rates at low differential pressure, making PTFE cartridges suitable for air/gas filtration.
Ultra-Mem PTFE cartridges gives a wide range of chemical compatibility with high thermal stability. Suitable for the most demanding microfiltration membranes applications, cartridges are used for filtration of aggressive chemical solutions, including acids, alkalis, solvents and caustics.

Membrane filter
A membrane filter is made from polymeric plastic film -typically polypropylene – These filters have a smaller filtration capacity, but here is the guarantee almost 100% retention grade and is available in different filtration grades. 0,1µm, 0,2µm and 0,45µm.

For critical applications in sterile filtration, use of a hydrophobic PTFE membrane is recommended, especially in applications such as pharmaceutical industry and biotechnology. PTFE membranes are also well suited for sterile steam applications.
PTFE Series cartridges are manufactured using a highly hydrophobic ePTFE membrane. The enhanced ePTFE membrane offers exceptionally high gas flow rates at low pressure differentials (see graph). PTFE Series cartridges are recommended for sterile gas filtration and venting applications. The hydrophobic characteristics of the ePTFE membrane makes the PTFE Series filter cartridge particularly suitable for wet gas sterilising applications, such as fermenter air feed.
For solvent and aggressive chemical filtration applications, PTFE Series cartridges offer a wide range of chemical compatibility with high thermal stability. Suitable for the most demanding microfiltration applications, the cartridges can be used for the filtration of aggressive chemical solutions including acids, alkalis, solvents and etchants.
